The oldest familiar shape of the Black Forest clock. Wooden wheel waves run on wooden circuit boards. With a balance lever serving as time control. The drive was probably a smooth field rock on a string with a counterweight. Running time was about 12 hours. Not until the second half of the 18th century were the wooden gear wheels replaced with brass wheels. The clock case made of wood and the wooden carrier plates remained.
